Smokestack Lightnin' Home Page -- The Blues Profile Page

alstonelphotoChicago is often called the birthplace of the blues, producing legends like Buddy Guy, Muddy Waters and Jimmy Johnson to name a few. Get ready to add Al Stone to your list of great performers from Chi-town. Playing his own style of rockin’ blues, Al Stone pushes blues to a new level with some of the most lyrically and musically original blues around.

Stones music career has always been influenced by the blues, but it wasn’t until an impromptu fill-in gig for an ill Jimmy Johnson at Chicago’s famous Kingston Mines that Stone decided to focus on his blues roots merging the rock and blues as one hot style. Al Stone is a natural on stage.  His slide guitar playing, reminiscent of Johnny Winter who was a large influence to Al, is second to none.  His current band has made a name for themselves touring the Southeast, Midwest and Chicago.   Don’t miss an opportunity to see Al Stone and his band live!

In 2011, Al has been and will continue to play out and appear on blues radio programs in support of the 15th anniversary and repackaging of his 1996 cd “I want It All”.  The new CD/DVD package (pending) may contain 4 new songs and video from up coming live performances (your venue may be included).
