Louisiana roots, blues and jazz artist Andy Squint is a songwriter steeped in tradition. In 2010 he relocated from Baton Rouge, LA, to High Point, NC, where he won 3rd place in the Piedmont Blues Preservation Society solo/duo blues competition. In Baton Rouge, Andy was the house guitarist at Tabby's Blues Box. As a member of Tabby Thomas's Swamp Cats, Andy played with many Louisiana blues artists. After "The Box" closed, Andy went on to work with such Louisiana Blues Hall of Fame members as Oscar Davis and Slim Harpo's guitarist, James Johnson. In 2006 Andy struck out on his own with a CD of original blues songs entitled Goin' to the Racetrack. In 2008, Andy was a guest artist on Larry Garner's 2008 Dixie Frog release, Here Today, Gone Tomorrow. With his National Resophonic guitar,driving rhythms, and singing bottleneck slide, Andy will take you to the bayou country in his solo acoustic show.
