Night after night, CeCe Teneal gives her all to the audience in front of her. Each time she touches the microphone, her passion, energy, and raw talent captivate the crowd. With a healthy blend of invigorating and soothing sounds, her shows aren’t merely entertainment – they are an experience. The music transcends cultural and generational barriers. Her unique craft, though self-admittedly unmastered, certainly hasn’t appeared overnight. It all began behind the pews of a family church in the small country town of Osteen, FL at the tender age of six. Every time CeCe was handed a microphone, her voice echoed with a chilling resonance – remarkable and unprecedented for someone of her youth.
Although CeCe’s voice was a rite of passage inherited from her mother, she only expressed her talent in church and within the comfort of her own home at first. She quickly found her self in search of something deeper and could feel that something inside was waiting to emerge. These feelings prompted CeCe to move to Orlando, Florida to pursue her music career. She began singing in various venues around the city, all-the-while searching for her musical niche and honing her craft. In 2003, CeCe took the stage at a weekly event called “Downtown Live” – an open mic night with a neo-soul vibe in downtown Orlando. She quickly won the hearts of local audiences who simply wanted more. CeCe began performing at the venue nearly weekly until she was eventually asked to run the show.
With music in her soul and business savvy in her back pocket, CeCe did just that. Giving it the new name of “Sunday Night Live” and a new flare that drew crowds in massive numbers. CeCe then co-founded Soul Kamotion, an entertainment and promotion company focusing primarily on making “Sunday Night Live” the best show in Orlando. The word quickly spread about “Sunday Night Live”, Soul Kamotion, and CeCe Teneal. In 2007, owners of the B.B. King’s Blues Club caught wind of CeCe’s talent and went to “Sunday Night Live”. They virtually hired her on the spot as the leading vocalist of the B.B. King’s All-Star Band. In 2009 and 2010, CeCe was awarded the Orlando Hip Hop Award for Best Female Singer.
On the steam of her local success she began opening for various national recording artists including Regina Belle, Miki Howard, Donnell Jones, Tamia, Dwele, and B.B. King. Additionally, the newly dubbed "Voice of Neo-Blues" has shared the stage with the likes of Zac Harmon and Grammy Award Winner Buddy Guy. Her sound, energy, and especially her ability to incorporate audiences into every live performance, rates second to none. Currently, Ms. Teneal is in the process of promoting her highly anticipated Neo-Blues album "Train From Osteen” which is due to be released locally on September 10th followed by a larger national release on October 4, 2011.
