Eldon Huff Band is a fresh take on the kind of music you wish were still being made. A musical melting pot of blues, soul, and rock and roll, with songs that are honest and inspired. Eldon Huff began making music at age 8 in Harlan, KY, playing drums and singing in local Pentecostal churches and bar rooms before becoming the guitar slinging blues man that he is today. His journey led him to Nashville in 2003, where he soon scored a recording contract with Sony Music. After a failed attempt as a "country artist", he became one of the premier session guitarist and songwriters on Music Row. He soon followed his vision and began writing songs that would become the pre-cursor to the Eldon Huff Band.
After meeting Tony Nagy in late 2008, the two realized they shared a common desire to make an album that they both could be proud of and to build a career on. Tony has always had an affinity for the low end. Studying tuba in high school and college gave him a foundation in the mechanics of music, while the grooves of "everything southern" filled in the rest of the structure. Going to school on roots music, while "in school" at the University of Kentucky, started the love affair with R&B, soul, blues, and rock and roll that is evident in his emotional involvement while performing. Having performed on the big stage with Lee Roy Parnell, Mark Selby, Kenny Wayne Shepard, Joe Bonamassa, and playing thousands of Nashville recording sessions didn't hurt either.
A chance meeting at the Thursday night blues jam, held at "The Fillin' Station" in Kingston Springs, TN would bring Milwaukee, Wisconsin's own Del Bennett into the picture. Huff knew, after only one song, that he had found the missing piece of the puzzle. As it turns out, the 2011 WAMI Award winning Drummer of the Year was by no means undiscovered. Known as a world class drummer playing with some of the most influential musicians of today, like, - Daryl Stuermer (Genesis), Greg Koch, David Grissom, Jeff Lorber, Malford Milligan, Reggie Hamilton, Stephen Bruton and Robben Ford to name a few. After years of performing on the global stage and recording thousands of studio sessions his contribution of depth, focus and energy has raised the Eldon Huff Band to a new level.
Having unique and impressive careers all their own, together the sky is
the limit. With a new album due for release in early 2012 and a tour to
follow, there will be no ear left unsatisfied for the real soulful-blues
based-rock and roll
that is the Eldon Huff Band.
