Mark Evangelos started playing guitar in the 1960′s. He backed John Lee Hooker and through the ’70′s played on shows with Chuck Berry, Muddy Waters, and other blues greats. Mark would sit in with Muddy Waters when Muddy toured through Western, NY.

Muddy Waters considered Mark Evangelos to be one of the most soulful blues guitar players of that era. Mark was in The Luther Johnson Chicago Blues Band and a member of James Peterson’s Blues Band.

Mark Evangelos style is similar to the high energy of the blues guitar players of the 1960′s such as Albert King, Otis Rush and Eric Clapton. If you enjoy this style of blues music you’ll appreciate Mark‘s style.
