Guitarist/Singer, Michael Louis was born in NYC and raised in Brooklyn, NY and still lives there. Growing up on the streets of the New York City area had a profound effect on his music. His musical style is also influenced from the south through blues, jazz, funk, soul, rhythm and all its offshoots that were born there.
On his latest CD "THE ROLL UP," you hear the tough funk in Willie Dixons "29 Ways," blues/soul in "Sad, Sad Story," the Allmans style jamming on "The Roll Up," the heavy rock of "Bad Things," the New Orleans pop blues of "Junker Blues"(a tribute to one of his favorite spots in the world, New Orleans & also to its writer, "Champion" Jack Dupree). His CD is well received, but it his live performance that is a “MUST SEE”.
His band includes Andrei Sebastian/Bass - Andrei is a bass player who understands the fatback style of playing his instrument. Andrei is an in demand session & live performer. James "Worm" Wormworth/Drums - James is a NYC "A" list drummer that has played on the Conan O’ Brien show with the Max Weinberg 7 and in various groups with Conan Band members: Jerry Vivino, Jimmy Vivino, the Love Trio w/ Michael Merritt. James has played with many blues legends (Johnny Copeland, Hubert Sumlin, Son Seals). Michael Louis is also well known from his rockabilly band "SLICK PELT." Slick Pelt has the legendary Mikey “Chops” LaConte (from Chops & Sauerkraut w/ Seth “Sauerkraut” Travins) on the Doghouse Slap Bass.
