Roy Brooks has been playing guitar and toting speaker cabinets for over thirty years. In the 1980s Roy was a road musician playing Ramada Inns, Holiday Inns, military bases, and dance halls all over the southeast and into Wisconsin, South Dakota, and Montana. For most of the 1990s and into the 2000s Roy lived in Charleston, South Carolina and worked with a plethora of blues and party bands. In 2007 Roy moved to the DC metro area. His first gigs around DC were in the Monday and Wednesday night house band at Chick Hall's Surf Club in Bladensburg, Maryland and with the late Richard Marcus.
Roy currently plays with Bo Weevil & Rottin Cottin, Wayne Brown & 2nd Conspiracy, and the Relative Miners. Every Thursday night he hosts a jam with Chip Clemmer and Chris Hall at the Sapphire Restaurant in Laurel, Maryland.
